Description

Description

This artificial nest is made of Woodstone®. The nest box is made from Woodstone® a concrete and wood fibre mix. WoodStone® nest boxes safeguard against attacks from predators including woodpeckers, cats and squirrels.

Siting

Hang the artificial nest in a shed/barn, under a carport or bridge. The nest should be placed directly under the ceiling so that only a small space (at least 4 cm) remains between ceiling and nest edge. Preferably place several nests together because the swallow prefers to breed in colonies. For a better chance of occupation, site the nest in a location with horses or cattle present.

Maintenance

Clean the nest bowl once a year at the end of the season (October). The reliability of the suspension must also be checked annually.
