Description

Description

This multi-habitat insect hotel offers suitable and attractive habitats for solitary bees, bumblebees, butterflies and ladybirds as well as a wide range of other benefitical minibeasts such as spiders, parasitic wasps, gauze flies and earwigs.

The hotel is perfect for conservation wildlife spaces, parks & recreational settings, visitor sites, schools and other public places as well as making an impressive garden feature.

Leading invertebrate conservation charity, Buglife, were so impressed with our insect houses that they have endorsed the complete Vivara Pro range, commenting on “a really well designed and practical selection” of habitats.

Siting

Place the insect hotel preferably in a sunny area, in close proximity to plants and south facing. The hotel can be anchored to the ground with the posts supplied, ensuring the pole with the protective black layer is just above the ground level. This hotel is also suitable for installation into flat roofs or mounted onto a wall.

To attract and encourage the optimal number of insects to the hotel, we recommend planting 100 m² of native, nectar rich plants around the installation.

Maintenance

The Vivara Pro Corsica Insect Hotel is treated with a clear water-based substance, and treating this annually with a wildlife-friendly preservative will help maintain an optimum condition for years to come. Check the hotel annually for any general maintenance needs, and only replace the bamboo tubes if damage is observed or they become misplaced.
