Vivara Pro Midi Maternity Bat Box
This midi maternity box will be used by various species depending on which occur locally, and includes the Common pipistrelle, Nathusius's pipistrelle, Soprano pipistrelle, Whiskered bat and Brandt's bat. W
The box has been designed in conjunction with wildlife experts and three internal compartments and two entrances. One via the opening in the bottom of the box, and the other via the access hole on the reverse which is made accessible by the 2cm space formed between the mounting wall and rear of the box.
Also available in this range are the Vivara Pro Maxi Maternity Bat Box and the Grand Maternity Bat Box.
The box is produced using Spray Cork, a light and insulating material which is available exclusively from Vivara Pro. It is produced using fine bits of cork, resin and water and is sustainable material and with no chemical additives used during production. The finished boxes have a rough grain texture which also creates a good platform from which bats can grip whilst also being soft to prevent injuries to their wings or claws.
Bats need to increase their body temperature before flight so prefer warm roosting spots, which is why many of our bat boxes have a dark exterior to absorb heat from the sun.
We do not always hold high levels of stock for this item so delivery times may vary. Please request a quotation and we can advise an estimated delivery date for your order.
The bat box can be placed on both a tree or a façade. Preferably choose a sunny spot but do not place the cabinet under or in artificial light and avoid placing where the rain can directly access the box. Preferably hang several boxes together. When placing in bunkers, cellars, attics and stables, place the boxes as high as possible against the façade or posts, they should be hung at a minimum height of 3 metres (approx. 10ft).
