Red Squirrel House
This plywood house has been designed with a wide hole so squirrels can take their young into the house easily and safely. The platform around the middle of the house allows easier access for squirrels, especially juveniles who will use this to help them come and go from the house with ease. The house is best situated in a tree, 3-4 metres high.
Place the house at least 4 meters high in a tree in a quiet area, preferably in a forest, park or garden. If possible it should not face the south / west due to rain and wind being able to get into the box. First, the suspension lath must be mounted on the back of the house using the supplied bolts and wing nuts. The house can then be attached to the tree. Nesting material can be added, we suggest using hay or dry grass.
If a house is occupied by a squirrel, cleaning is not possible. If the cabinet is occupied by pigeons, the cabinet must be cleaned once a year in the winter months. Then refill with hay or dry grass. The suspension of the house must also be checked annually.
